Hey, dreamers! It’s been QUITE a while. (9 months to be exact…) I have definitely neglected this blog. If I may be quite honest, I have really struggled this past year.
As some of you may know, I am a travel nurse by trade. I have been a registered nurse since 2010 when I graduated nursing school at the tender age of 19, and a travel nurse since 2015, when I left my cushy job with state benefits at a large hospital in my home state. In January of last year, I quietly signed a 12-month lease and took a travel assignment in a small town in a nearby state where the cost of living was much less to try and get ahead financially. Only a handful of people in my life were even aware of this. Transparent moment: I have A LOT of bills, and EVEN MORE credit card debt. I knew that I had to do something if I was ever going to get anywhere outside of being a prisoner to my bills, to the debt that I’ve accrued, and to an employer for the rest of my life. They say if you want to make God laugh, just tell Him your plans… THAT certainly didn’t go as I had originally envisioned. Needless to say, I didn’t come out of the year debt free or even with less debt. Actually, I think I came out of it with even more debt than I had before I came up with such a ✨master plan.✨

The second season of my podcast wrapped in December of 2023, and I had hoped to start releasing new episodes again on the first day of Summer last year. That also didn’t happen. Instead, my podcast went on an unplanned hiatus for almost a year. I finally was able to begin mustering up the will to edit all of the episodes I had collected over the course of the past year, and now, without further ado… new episodes are back every Friday. 🧡
I think 2020 has showed us what the danger of proclaiming that a year is going to be ✨our year✨ can be, so instead I’ll just say that I’m going into 2025 with the intention of healing and continuing to move within closer proximity to my dreams. I’d like to say that financial freedom is always on the vision board I have for my life, but I cannot continue to be obsessed with my debt in the manner that I have been in the past. I already live with anxiety and depression (that’s for another post) and the fixation on my finances just adds more unneeded stress. Although I refuse to accept, or even believe, that debt has to be a part of this life, I also cannot continue to burn myself out any further by working (and especially working overtime) in a field that doesn’t nourish me. It simply just is what it is.
May we all gain prosperity and victory in this new season. God is good, and the devil is a liar. New episodes of my podcast, Kultivation w/ Kevie, are available on all podcast streaming platforms every Friday. I will begin updating the blog with new posts containing each new episode again soon. Until then, you may continue to listen to and support the show via Apple Podcasts, Spotify, etc. I hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday season this year. Happy 2025!!
Love and light,
Kevie 🧡
